Our Story

We started out struggling with the exact same problem that many Singaporeans face even till this day. Mortgages are complex and confusing to grasp and applying for one isn't any easier. Not only did we have to spend countless hours scouring multiple banking websites to research on their various home loan offerings, we also had to talk to multiple people - agents, brokers and bank representatives - in order to make a feeble attempt to figure everything out. Being commision-driven, these people would sometimes be pushy and biased towards the few products they were representing. Eventually, when we did settle on a particular package, we were still not 100% sure whether it was truly the best deal in town for us. 

That's why we decided to build SmartLoans.sg, a simple and easy-to-use online loan comparison platform that was free for everyone. SmartLoans intelligently determines your requirements, automatically scans all mortgage packages available in the market and systematically returns relevant results in an easy-to-compare table format. It's transparent and unbiased. It's easy for even a first time home buyer, because there's no confusing jargon, no pushy sales pitches and no fancy marketing spiels. The results returned speak for themselves. All you have to do is pick which packages you were interested in and we'll help you take care of the rest.

SmartLoans.sg was launched in April 2009 and is the first and leading loan comparison site in Singapore. Since then we've saved thousands of people precious time and money by equipping them with the information they need to know, and helping them get their paperwork sorted out. A process that would have typically taken days, now takes just minutes. We have been featured on numerous publications like The Straits Times, The Business Times, Zaobao, Shin Min Daily, Mypaper, Today, Channel News Asia, Channel 8, Channel U, Class 95, News Radio 938, Men's Health Magazine, Forbes and many more… 

To date, we've extended our portfolio to cover more loans like commercial property loans, business loans, personal loans, renovation loans and education loans. We've also added insurance and credit cards to our sister sites SmartInsurance.sg and SmartCredit.sg.
